Two drug paddlers arrested from Agartala Railway station with cash amount

Two wanted drug paddlers including a woman, involved with transportation of drugs including Cannabis (Ganja) and Yaba tablets through passengers’ trains in between Agartala and other long destinations were arrested by Government Railway Police (GRP) of Agartala Railway station on Friday night with large amount of cash.
Giving details, OC of GRP Agartala Railway station, Tapash Das said that GRP along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday evening managed to arrest two wanted persons under a specific case of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 before their boarding to a long distance train.
He said that both accused were identified as Mohammad Mehedi Hassan Nazmul (20) of Kulubari village of Sonamura and Sahena Aktar (30) of Charilam under the same Sepahijala district actively involved in transportation drugs through long distance trains.
During a search in their baggage, police recovered a total of Rs. 6.30 lakh under the possession of Mehedi Hassan Nazmul and more Rs. 2 lakh cash from a bag belonging to arrested Sahena Aktar.
He said that both drug paddlers were produced before a local court on Saturday with police remand appeals for interrogation to get details of their drug transportation network.
