Two women drug peddlers from Bihar sent to police remand in Tripura

Once again two women from Bihar state were arrested on Sunday night from Agartala Railway station with huge quantities of dry Cannabis (Ganja), who were handlers of an inter-state drug network.
A local court in West Tripura district on Monday sent two women hailing from Bihar state to two days police remand after being booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
They were arrested on Sunday night from Agartala Railway station by Government Railway Police (GRP) of Agartala Railway station with a huge quantity of dry Cannabis (Ganja).
OC of GRP station of Agartala Railway station, Tapash Das said that two women from Bihar state identified as Sunita Devi (48) from Patna district and Rita Devi (35) from Vaishali district, were seen moving suspiciously in the state while waiting for the train.
The GRP and RPF personnel on the lookout for movement detained the ladies and during search of their two big bags, around 21.065 kg of dry Ganjan worth Rs. 3.5 lakh was recovered under their possessions.
Investigation is going on to track the inter-state drug smugglers network and their supply chain, said OC of GRP.
