West Tripura PC: Voting for essential voters starts, PB voting from April 16
After completion of Home Voting process in the entire West Tripura parliamentary constituency, the voting for the persons involved with essential services has also started on Monday at the voting felicitation center Shishu Bihar HS school in Agartala.
Giving details of the voting process, Returning Officer (RO) of West Tripura parliamentary constituency, Dr Vishal Kumar said that altogether 42 persons mainly the journalist and other media persons, who are involved with essential services have casted their votes through ‘Postal Ballots’ at the facilitation centre located at Shishu Bihar HS school in Agartala.
He said that voting for the government employees, poll personnel and security forces through postal ballots will start from April 16 and will continue up to April 17 at the same venue.
Expressing his satisfaction over the peaceful voting process, DR Kumar said that during the Home voting for the people above 85 years and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), which has conducted on April 10 and 12 across West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency and 7-Ramnagar assembly seat , a total of 4457 voters casted their votes for West Tripura PC and 196 more voters have also casted their votes for the by-polls of 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency.
Among the 14, 63, 526 eligible voters in West Tripura PC, 4,581 PWDs and elderly individuals have registered for home voting facilities and for Ramnagar assembly seat ,a total of 201 voters are registered for home voting from Ramnagar AC and six teams of poll personnel have covered the voting of all voters on April 10 and 12 for Ramnagar.
Similarly, a total 200 team of poll personnel completed the home voting in the entire West Tripura PC on April 10 and 12.
