Young lady drug peddler arrested with Ganja from Agartala Railway station

In two separate successful operations, the Government Railway Police (GRP) posted at Agartala Railway station arrested a young lady with large quantities of dry Cannabis (Ganja) before her boarding to New Delhi bound train on Monday evening and have also seized large quantities of contraband cough syrup from Humsafar express.
Giving details, OC of GRP station of Agartala Railway station, Tapash Das said that a joint contingent of GRP and Railway Protection Force (RPF) in their first operation carried out on Monday evening following the arrival of the Rajdhani Express at Agartala Railway Station. During routine checking, police recovered 270 bottles of Eskuf Cough Syrup from the train. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is over Rs. 1.35 lakh.
In a separate operation later in the Monday evening, GRP personnel arrested a young woman before her boarding to a New Delhi bound train and recovered 9 packets of dry Ganja weighing 21.490 kgs from a trolley bag.
Arrested woman drug peddler was identified as Miss. Aparna Debbarma (29) of Koroimura village of Bishramganj under Sepahijala district and during preliminary interrogation, she confessed that she wanted to sell these seized dry Ganja to some smugglers in New Delhi with higher rate, said OC Das and added that arrested drug peddler also confessed that she will collect a sum of Rs. 7.5 lakh by selling 21 kgs of Ganja.
Arrested lady drug peddler was produced before a local court in a case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 with police remand appeal to get details of her drug trading network.
