Youth died after drowned into river water at Bishalgarh

In a tragic incident, a youth, who has just passed the Higher Secondary examination, was drowned to death in a river on Tuesday at Prem Sagar area of Kamthana area of Sepahijala district.

Sources said that in order to beat the scorching heat, one Subha Chowdhury, son of Shankar Chowdhury of Gokulnagar area of the same district went to a small river at Prem Sagar area of Kamthana along with three other friends. When Subha along with his other friend jumped into the river water, he felt a gorge under the river and was unable to climb up the surface of water.

Immediately, his friend and other people enjoying swimming in the cold water of the river informed the incident to firefighters and firefighters after two hours of search, managed to recover the lifeless body of Subha Chowdhury.

Firefighters sources said that the deceased youth fell into a deep gorge under the river water, he was unable to swim and died inside the water. Firefighters recovered his body under the gorge and shifted him to Bishalgarh hospital, where a visiting doctor declared him dead.

A pall of gloom descended in the entire village of Gokulnagar after the death of a promising youth, who had just passed the higher secondary examination. The local MLA Sushanta Deb has also visited hospital after he heard the tragic incident and expressed his condolence to bereaved family members.
