Youth tries to commit suicide in railway track, lost hand

The police personnel of Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) on Monday rescued a seriously injured youth from railway track at Agartala station with chopped hand and shifted him to hospital in critical condition.
Police sources said that the station master of Agartala railway station informed the police that a body of youth was laying the track under bridge number-3 of Agartala in a pool of blood.
Immediately, police personnel from ERSS rushed to the spot and shifted the injured youth to Tripura Medical College (TMC) in critical condition.
Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that an unidentified youth had tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a running train. But, luckily the train mowed down only one of his hand, which has also been cut in pieces.
After some local people noticed the incident, they informed the matter to police and police shifted him to TMC. Later, seriously injured youth, who lost one of his hand has been referred to GB Hospital.
Police also added that they have started investigation, but so far the identity of the youth yet to be ascertained.
