Ali Khamenei hiding in underground bunker with family members amid Iran-Israel conflict: Reports
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and his family members shifted to an underground bunker in northeastern Tehran just hours before Israel launched its attacks on Tehran on Friday, media reports said.
All members of Khamenei's family, including his son Mojtab, are with him, sources told Iran International.
Trump Vetoes Israeli Plan To Assassinate Khamenei
US President Donald Trump has vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a U.S. official told Fox News on Sunday, amid escalating tension between the two nations.
Details about the assassination attempt or Trump's veto stance have not been confirmed officially so far.
Trump, meanwhile, claimed he could help Israel and Iran to reach a deal, referring to the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.
In his Truth Social post, Trump claimed he helped India and Pakistan to reach a ceasefire deal on May 10.
He wrote on the social media platform: "Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal, just like I got India and Pakistan to make, in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!"
The Indian government, however, maintained that India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of cross-border drone and missile strikes without the involvement of a third party, media reports said.
Iran and Israel continued to strike each other for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday, further intensifying the conflict in the region.
The Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service, told The Times of Israel 67 people were injured in ballistic missile strikes in central Israel.
They include a woman in her 30s in serious condition, six moderately wounded, and 60 lightly hurt or suffering acute anxiety, MDA says.
MDA confirmed three people, including two women, were killed in the strikes.
"3 killed (2 women, 1 man ~70) in rocket strikes across 4 sites in central Israel," MDA posted on X.
