Four security personnel killed in armed attack in Pakistan
Four security personnel were killed while a traffic constable sustained injuries following an armed attack in Pishin and Khyber districts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, media reports said.
Within a gap of eight hours, Pishin witnessed two attacks which left two Levis officials dead and one constable injured.
The attackers used automatic weapons on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday to target a security check post in the Milizai area of Pishin district, police told Dawn News.
The Levies personnel, Yasin Alyas and Abdul Qadeer, embraced martyrdom in the shooting, the officials said, adding that the security personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies to the district hospital.
The second attack occurred at a time when security forces were conducting investigations into the first incident.
Armed men riding motorcycles targeted a traffic policeman performing his duty at Jan Adha area of the busy Pishin Bazaar when he was shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another midnight attack on a check post in Khyber district, two policemen and a civilian were killed.
Police told Dawn News an unknown number of militants opened fire on the Charwazgai check post, situated on the main Torkhum Highway, near the Landi Kotal army camp.
