Pakistan: Quetta blast leaves security official dead
A senior Pakistani security official was killed in a bomb attack in the Quetta area of Pakistan, media reports said on Sunday.
Police told Dawn News a magnetic explosive device was attached to the officer’s vehicle, which exploded in the Jabl-i-Noor area, a locality on the outskirts of Quetta.
The name of the official has not been revealed so far.
The area was cordoned off after the blast.
Initial investigation showed a remote-controlled explosion was behind the attack.
The intensity of the blast left the window panes of nearby shops and houses destroyed.
A further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
