Pakistan: Three tribesmen die during clash between two groups
At least three tribesmen died during an armed clash between two groups in Dera Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district of Pakistan on Friday.
According to police, the cause of the armed clash between two groups of the Rad tribe was an honour issue, Dawn News reported.
Police told the Pakistani newspaper that some armed men of one group opened fire on a their rival group’s member, identified as Dur Muhammad, near Pat Feeder Canal area.
He jumped into the canal to save himself but drowned.
After receiving information about the attack, armed men of his group attacked the house of their opponents in Manjodhori area, triggering a heavy exchange of fire which continued for half an hour, Dawn News reported.
The firing incident left two people dead.
The deceased included one person from each side.
“The cause of armed attack was honour killing issue which sparked the armed clash,” a senior police officer told Dawn.
He said police are trying to arrest those involved in the incident.
