The recent unrest in the area left at least 10 people dead and scores of others injured.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif said “all issues have been resolved amicably”.

The agreement was signed after two rounds of talks between the high-level government delegation and the JAAC in as many days.

The region witnessed violent unrest after talks between JAAC, the PoK government and federal ministers broke down last week over the issue of elite privileges and reserved seats for refugees.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has condemned the incident.

HRCP wrote on X: "We strongly condemn the use of excessive force and the deaths of civilians and law enforcers alike as well as communication blackouts."

"While dialogue is essential, it cannot be meaningful amid the continued political disenfranchisement of the region's people. The right to peaceful protest must be upheld and grievances addressed transparently," the X-post said.
