May 3, 2023 ..

The remains of an Australian man, who had disappeared during a fishing trip in an area inhabited by crocodiles, have been found inside two crocodiles, media reports said.

According to Australian media, Kevin Darmody (65), had gone fishing on Saturday in far north Queensland as part of a group, that shooed away a crocodile so that they could start their activity.

People, who had gone finishing, heard him “yell, scream very loudly, followed by a large splashing of water,” said Cairns police inspector Mark Henderson.

Afterwards, the rangers shot and killed two crocodiles, one measuring around 4.2 meters (14 feet) and the other measuring 2.8 meters (nine feet), using rifles. These crocodiles were discovered upstream from where the fishing group was located, within the boundaries of Lakefield National Park.

Wildlife official Michael Joyce of the Queensland state urged people to be cautious.

He said the area is full of crocodiles and declared specifically for crocodile conservation. So, one should be careful that there would be crocodiles in water, especially in Lakefield.
