Terrorism won’t end with military alone, warns Pakistani politician
Awami National Party (ANP) central president Aimal Wali Khan on Friday said that terrorism in Pakistan cannot be eliminated through military operations alone.
“Terrorism can’t be eliminated through military operations alone,” Aimal was quoted as saying by Dawn News while addressing a function in Charsadda to mark the death anniversaries of Khudai Khidmatgar Movement founder Bacha Khan and ANP leader Wali Khan.
The event was attended by thousands of ANP supporters.
He called for action against those who label terrorism as “jihad” and demanded strict punishment for individuals who facilitate terrorists.
During his speech, Aimal Wali Khan also accused former army chief Retired Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, former ISI chief Retired Lt-Gen. Faiz Hameed, former president Arif Alvi, and PTI founder Imran Khan of enabling the return of terrorists to the country.
He opposed the federal government’s decision to join the Gaza Board of Peace, stating that the Palestine issue should be resolved according to the will of the Palestinian people.
