5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Himachal's Kangra Valley, Chamba
Dharamshala/IBNS: An earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude rocked Himachal Pradesh's Kangra Valley and Chamba on Thursday evening.

According to the Met department, the moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred at 9:34 PM, with a latitude of 33.09 and longitude of 76.59 and at a depth of 10 Km, with its epicenter in Chamba of Himachal Pradesh in north India.

There has been no report of loss of life or property from any parts of Kangra Valley so far.
The earthquake coincided with a disastrous quake that happened on this day 119 years ago in 1905, which left thousands of people dead and a trail of devastation in Kangra.
