In a major promotion by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions through a notification issued on December 14   has promoted 14 senior TCS officers of Tripura and appointed them to the IAS cadre select list for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The promotion of senior TCS officers has been made against the vacancy position as was determined by the Government of India under Regulation  5(1) of the said regulations in consultation with the State government for the year-wise select lists including 2018,2019  and 2020 on probation until further orders and to allocate them to the Tripura Cadre. Those who have been promoted in the 2018 list include Dilip Kumar Chakma, Ratan Biswas, Tapan Kumar Das, Smt. Rakhi Biswas, Suithuifru Mog and Smt. Kuntal Das. Three officers namely Tamal Majumdar, Nirmal Adhikari and Md Moslem Uddin Ahmed are from the 2019 list while Sankar Debnath, Uttam Mandal, Usha Jen Mog, Ratnajit Debbarma and Sanjoy Chakraborty have been promoted from the select list of 2020.

The above promotion order is subject to the outcome of the SLPC No.19765-19767/2015 titled State of Tripura and Others  v/s Jayanta Chakraborty and others pending before the Supreme Court and a similar  WPC No-40 of 2019 has also been filed by Usha Jen Mog before the High Court of Tripura which is also subject to the pending decision of the  Supreme Court in the aforesaid  SLPC clearly said in the order.
