146 MP suspension: CPI (M), Congress organizes protest rally separately in state
The Left parties and Congress who are part of INDIA bloc on Friday organised rallies separately in Tripura protesting suspension of 146 Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to opposition parties from the Parliament.
Hundreds of party leaders and supporters took to the streets to ventilate the anger over the suspension 146 MPs for seeking a reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on security breach at the Parliament.
“Never before have the countrymen seen suspension of so many MPs of oppostion parties for asking statement from the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on security breach in the Parliament. We strongly condemned the suspension act”, CPI (M) state secretary Jitendra Choudhury told the media.
Claiming that suspension of opposition MPs from Parliament was a larger conspiracy to ensure ‘oppositon mukt Samsad’, Choudhury said it was the Prime Minister who declared the new Parliament built by spending Rs. 20,000 crore is a full-proof structure in security point of view.
The Congress staged agitation in front of Congress Bhavan ventilating anger over suspension of 146 MPs of opposition parties.
“We strongly condemned the suspension of opposition MPs for asking legitimate questions on security breach at Parliament. The party in Tripura also joined the nationwide agitation to expose the BJP’s authoritarian rule to silence the opposition parties. We urge the people to join the stir to save democracy in the country”, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Asish Kumar Saha told the media.
