Soon after recovery of a body of missing youth on Sunday, tension prevailed in the Gangail Road area of Agartala at the bank of river Howrah.

The deceased youth was identified as Ramjan Ali, also known as Titon, was recovered from the Howrah River. Police suspect that the victim was murdered before his body was dumped into the river.

Sources said that morning walkers at the newly developed riverside park in Gangail raod area noticed bloodstains near the riverbank and immediately alerted the police. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators examined the area and suspected that a body had been thrown into the river. Police had reportedly received information about the youth's disappearance the previous night.

A joint search operation was subsequently launched under the supervision of the Sadar Sub-Divisional Administration. Personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Defence, and Fire and Emergency Services carried out an extensive search of the river.

After several hours of operation, the search teams recovered Ramjan Ali's body from the Howrah river.

Police sources said the deceased had multiple deep injury marks on his body, prompting investigators to suspect foul play. Preliminary findings indicate that he may have been killed before the body was disposed of in the river.

Officials, however, stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the post-mortem and forensic examination report is received. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
