Border Guards destroyed 6,09,400 Ganja plants in recent time

Since last one week, the Border Security Force (BSF) posted in the frontier of Tripura is carrying out a series of joint operations against illegal cultivation of Ganja (Cannabis). In another joint operation on Monday, BSF troops of Tripura Frontier along with NCB, TSR, Tripura Police and Excise department destroyed approximately 31,500 immature Ganja plants Gajeria and Ganiyamara villages under Bishalgarh police station and about 15 acres of land has been cleared by cutting, uprooting and burning of the ganja plants by BSF troops.

In another operation on Monday also, BSF troops along with police personnel from Kalamchowra police station also destroyed about 30,000 immature Ganja plants in the general area of Village South Kalamchowra under the same police station and cleared 18 acres of land.

This season till date a total 6,09,400 plants in Tripura mostly in Sepahijala district, have been destroyed.

BSF’s persistent and concerted efforts and endeavors in close coordination with sister agencies is playing a pivotal role for maintaining a "drug free" society.
