The Census 2027 process in the state will begin from August 1 and continue till August 30, 2026 and the house listing and housing census phase will be conducted in the same period across Tripura.

The first phase of training for officials, supervisors and enumerators associated with Census 2027 has been completed in West Tripura district. The training programme was organized jointly by the West Tripura District Administration, Tripura Census Operations Directorate and the Registrar General of India.

Officials informed that the training covered revision of maps, house listing and updating procedures. District-level officers and administrative officials participated in the programme.

While, after the end of three-days training programme, addressing a press conference, West Tripura District Magistrate (DM) Dr. Vishal Kumar said that the Census 2027 process in the state will begin from August 1 and continue till August 30, 2026. The house listing and housing census phase will be conducted from August 1st to August 30, 2026.

For the first time, citizens will be able to submit their personal and family details online through a self-enumeration system from July 17th to July 31st, 2026. The official website for self-enumeration is se.census.gov.in. After submitting details online, a unique reference ID will be generated. Enumerators visiting households will verify the ID and update the information if necessary.

Dr Kumar said that the new digital initiative will make the census process easier, faster and more transparent while also saving time.

He further informed that from August 1 to August 30, 2026, population enumeration and data collection work will be carried out across West Tripura district. Before the start of the process, enumerators and supervisors will undergo extensive training to ensure smooth implementation of the programme.

During the three-day training programme, officials were briefed about data collection methods, concepts and the overall operational manual of the Census exercise.
