Finance Minister launches “Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana”
Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has launched Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana (MYYY) scheme for the academic year 2023-24 for providing reimbursement grant for purchasing of Smartphone during a programme held at Directorate of Information Technology, IT Bhavan in Indranagar area of Agartala on Friday.
This scheme has been implemented from FY 2020-21. In FY 2020-21, total 7,274 were benefitted, in FY 2021-2022 total 9579 students benefitted and in the FY 2022-23, total 11,892 students were benefitted. In the last three financial years, a total of 28745 students are benefitted with an amount of Rs. 14.37 Cr(approx.). In this year, 19,796 more students will get the benefit.
Earlier, it was estimated that this year number of students will be near about 12000 and accordingly, budget provision was made only for Rs. 6 Crore. But our Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha decided that all the 19,796 students will be covered under the scheme and for that the fund requirement has been increased to Rs. 9.49 Crore, said Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.
He highlighted that the importance of smart phone is essential for the students of our state. He also said that to make our Digital India and Digital Tripura successful, Smartphone is very essential to improve the present environment of the world. Every student is very important for the State and Nation. For the Final year student of Tripura, the scheme has already been launched today on 15 December, 2023. The application submission time is up to 15th January, 2024.
Minister has requested that every student of final year shall apply with in time as early as possible through BMS portal (https://bms.tripura.gov.in) to avail the smart phone reimbursement facility of Rs. 5000/- which will be credited to the student bank account. Student may purchase mobile phone having cost more than Rs.5000/-, but Government will be providing reimbursement grant of maximum Rs. 5000/- to each student.
he also highlighted that government has started e-Office project in every govt offices and has aimed to achieve the paperless office with in 31st December, 2023. Nowadays, Smartphone is very essential electronic device for students specially for online courses or classes. Govt. has aimed to provide this technical assistance as students should not lagging behind. It is not possible for all the Parents to purchase Smartphone for their son , daughter, that’s why government has extended financial grant to students since FY 2020 –2021. Singha Roy also requested all the students those are present, to inspire their friends to apply for MYYY Scheme and also make them apply as per procedure in BMS Portal.
In this inaugural programme, Kiran Gitte, Secretary of IT, Planning and Coordination and Industry and Commerce, Bidyut Datta, Addl. Director, IT and Institute Nodal officials along with final year students were also present. Institute heads also joined this launch event through Video conferencing system also.
