Total confident of victory: Rajib Bhattacharjee
After completion of by-polls, the ruling party BJP expressed their absolute confidence in winning both Boxanagar and Dhanpur seats with a large number of votes .
Addressing a press conference at state headquarters of BJP, the state unit president Rajib Bhattacharjee said that the voting process held in festive mode in both the assembly constituencies and a total of 89.02% votes were casted in 20-Boxanagar seat while in 23-Dhanpur constituency a total of 83.92% votes were casted their votes till 4 PM.
He added that voting took place in a peaceful manner and greeted the voters of both the constituencies' poll personnel, who were involved in the voting process .
He also expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha as he has always provided assistance to the Karyakartas and also to the Karyakartas of both the assembly constituencies. He added that the Media personnel have done a great job along with the police officials and thanked everyone for the peaceful voting.
Bhattacharjee said that BJP received tremendous response during campaigns for by-polls from cross sections of society and hoped that people has responded to the developmental agenda of ‘double-engine’ governments.
Rajib Bhattacharjee also said that for the first time that no political violence were reported during last assembly elections and this time also no political violence were reported from Dhanpur and Boxanagar . During the press meet Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy was also present .
