Marking World Environment Day, social organization Arpan Society organized a public awareness rally titled “Walk for Your Planet” in Agartala on Friday to encourage environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The rally commenced from in front of Ujjayanta Palace in the morning and passed through various thoroughfares of the city before returning to its starting point. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection, promote tree plantation, and encourage collective efforts towards building a pollution-free society.
A large number of environmental enthusiasts, volunteers, and members of the public participated in the rally, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship.
Among those present were Dr. Biswendhu Bhattacharjee, Secretary of Arpan Society, and S. Prabhu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the IGDC Project under the Forest department of Tripura, along with several other distinguished guests.Addressing the participants, the speakers emphasized the importance of individual and comm
unity responsibility in safeguarding the environment. They urged citizens to actively contribute to environmental conservation efforts and help preserve natural resources for future generations.
The rally concluded with a renewed call for collective action to address environmental challenges and promote a greener, healthier future.
